How it works

Nobody picks the winner. Not even us.

Every break runs the same five steps, whether Grail Break built it or a player did. Here's exactly what happens to your seat and your pack.

The run of a break

Five steps, every time.

A break opens

Grail Break or a player picks a grand prize, a size and a style. Every pack is priced from Collector Crypt's live catalogue.

Seats sell

All seats cost the same: the box's sticker cost plus the fees, split evenly. Max 2 per wallet.

Packs bought sealed

When the last seat sells, Grail Break pays for every pack. They're paid for and unopened, so nobody knows what's inside.

The oracle deals

ORAO's on-chain randomness shuffles the sealed packs across the seats. The proof is a public Solana transaction.

Ripped live

Cheapest first, grand prize last, owner revealed on every pull. Slabs go straight to each seat's wallet.

The oracle

Packs are dealt before anything opens.

Paid first, dealt second, opened last.

  1. Every pack in the box is paid for and sealed before the deal. At that point the cards inside are unknown to everyone.
  2. Grail Break asks ORAO VRF, a verifiable random function on Solana, for a random number. Nobody can predict or change it, Grail Break included.
  3. That number shuffles the sealed packs across the seats. Seat numbers are just seats; any seat can land the grand prize.
  4. Only then are the packs opened, one at a time, on stage. The request transaction is posted with every break's results.

The shuffle is public.

Anyone can re-run the deal from the oracle's randomness and get the same seats.

// randomness = the 64-byte ORAO result, as hex let ctr = 0 rnd(n) = sha256(randomness + ":" + ctr++)[0..4] % n packs = every pack in the box for i = packs.length-1 down to 1: j = rnd(i + 1) swap(packs[i], packs[j]) seat k owns packs[k]
Fees

One flat 5% fee. Hosts get half.

Packs

The box at sticker price

About 95% of every seat buys the sealed packs at Collector Crypt's price. Packs average about what they cost, so the box is worth what it costs.

Community breaks

The host gets half

Every break adds one flat 5% fee to the box. In a break a player hosts, half of it (2.5% of the box) goes to the host's wallet when every seat sells.

House breaks

Grail Break keeps the 5%

Breaks run by our hosts Aurelia, Riko and Mimi keep the full 5%, plus rounding to the next dollar. It pays for the oracle, the stage, delivery and refunds.

Three styles

Same grand prize, three boxes.

Chase

All-in on the hit

The grand prize plus the line's floor pack in every other seat. The cheapest way into a big pack; most seats land a small slab.

Balanced

Something at every level

A ladder under the grand prize: one pack a step down, then two, then four, and the floor takes the rest. More seats beat their price.

Even

Highest floor

The grand prize plus one solid mid-tier pack everywhere else. The priciest seat, and no seat walks away with a starter.

FAQ

Questions people ask.

Where do the cards come from?

Every pack is a real Collector Crypt gacha pack. The cards are graded slabs held in Collector Crypt's insured vault, and each one is an NFT you own.

What do I actually get?

The slab your seat's pack pulls, sent straight to the wallet that paid for the seat. From Collector Crypt you can keep it, ship the physical slab to your door, or take the instant buyback.

How is the seat price set?

The box costs what its packs cost on Collector Crypt. Add one flat 5% break fee, split the total across the seats, and round up to the next dollar. Every break shows exactly where each seat's dollars go.

Can I host my own breaks?

Yes. Sign in with a Solana wallet, set up a host profile, and open a break in the builder. You pick the grand prize, the size and the style. When every seat is paid, half of the 5% break fee (2.5% of the box) goes to the wallet you signed in with.

Can Grail Break or the host pick who wins?

No. Packs are paid for sealed before the deal, the deal comes from ORAO's on-chain randomness, and the grand prize is always opened last. The host chooses the box, never the winner.

Why max 2 seats per wallet?

So one wallet can't buy out a break and the grand prize stays a real chase for everyone in it.

What if a break doesn't fill?

Nothing is bought until every seat is paid. If a break closes unfilled, every seat is refunded to the wallet that paid for it.

What's a "house break"?

The flagship breaks Grail Break runs itself, hosted on stage by Aurelia, Riko and Mimi. Community breaks follow exactly the same rules.
